Design and manufacture of a horizontal electrophoresis gel system (ISMSIT2017_33)

ABSTRACT In this study, İt is aim to design and manufacture of a horizontal electrophoresis gel system. The electrophoresis tanks, which are designed and planned to be designed, are currently being imported from various countries, mainly from the USA and abroad. These systems are widely used in many research centers, especially in faculty laboratories working in fields such as Medicine, Agriculture and Biology. Draft drawings of the product to be designed have been realized. Designed with Solidworks CAD (Computer Aided Design) program by selecting optimal measures. Materials (PMMA materials) required for the designed product are provided. The technical drawings of the parts are transferred to the CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) and cut with CNC milling or laser. The prepared parts are glued with a suitable adhesive. The produced prototype was visually inspected and tested for water tightness. As a result of the design and prototype studies made, it is understood that this system, which is thought to be produced indigenously, can be produced at a more reasonable cost in terms of the economy of the country. Considering labor and other costs, it has been understood that such products can be produced at a cost of about one tenth of the market sale price.
