Abstract

Historical structures that reflect all the social, cultural, economic and political characteristics of societies are
important symbols of that society. This structure, which has come from the past to the present, needs to be transferred to the
next generations with the sustainable protection approach of space and cultural elements. Historical structures and areas of the
periodic features can be reflected and perceived to be related to the harmony of structures. Not only the historical structures,
but also topography, the city's natural features, colorful heights and forms by bringing together the historical or local areas of
interest can be created in the city. The heights of new buildings, construction materials, occupancy vacancy rates are the main
factors affecting the visibility and the visibility of places. However, with the development of urbanization and construction
technologies, we see that the structures that reduce the oppression, visibility and readability of the cultural buildings and spaces
are built. The plan decisions determine the harmony of the city with the important cultural structures and environment. In this
context, the aim of the study is to analyze the visibility of historical and cultural structures which have an important place in
the city's silhouette in different parts of the city and criticize the planning studies. Sinop city center was chosen as the study
area. Although it is not very common in the literature, the London View Management project in London is an important study
in this context. As a method, the most important buildings in the city were determined and vista points were determined in the
next stage. In the conclusion part, the visibility of important historical buildings from vista points was discussed through plan
decisions.
