ABSTRACT Coils are electrical-electronic circuit elements and they are obtained by winding conductive wires on top of one another on a core or space, when electrical current pass through the coils they bring a magnetic field around them. The electromotive force (emf) that occurs in the self-generated magnetic field by applying the coil current is called the self-induction electromotive force and this emf value changes with time, flow, coil winding number. When exposed to a magnetic field some materials such as iron, cobalt, and nickel can be magnetized and this materials are called ferromagnetic elements. In this study, direct (DC) and alternating (AC) currents were applied to the coil wrapped on square carcass, and tables and graphs were made according to the electrical change values obtained in ferromagnetic iron core and non-ferrous state and comments have been made. It has been observed that the current values are the same in both cases, the cases are with or without core, under the varied direct voltage values and in the application of the silicon core in the carcass by submersion. In the case of the alternating current measurements, it has been determined that the current values obtained in the case of high and low current are different from each other.
