Cloud-Based Mobile Health Monitoring System Design Using Wi-Fi Technology (ISAS 2018_80)

ABSTRACT The health need is undoubtedly an indispensable necessity for human life. When the literature is examined, it is seen that various health monitoring systems are developed by helping to meet the health need with technological improvements. Some of these studies consist, nowadays, with the spread of mobile devices in almost every area of our lives, to meet the health needs of individuals without going to the health institution and track the health status of the individuals is performed instantly independently from the place.

In this study, Arduino, an open-source microcontroller card in which a sample glucose meter was connected in series, was used. In this way, the glucose data (glucose ratio, time) obtained with the glucometer has been transferred to the remote server via the Wi-Fi technology channel. On the patient side of the system, a mobile application based on the Android mobile operating system was developed for listing and graphical display of data. The Apache Cordova framework, HTML, Javascript and CSS encoding are used for the mobile application and for storing the data in the database on the remote server. The measurement data from the remote server is stored in the local database of the mobile device using by the WebSQL api. The purpose of this work is to enable people to transfer their measurements to their mobile device with the remote server using Wi-Fi technology and to get their own data and graphical analysis of data. In this context, it is considered that the study will contribute to other studies in order to be able to follow the health care independently of the place at home or at work.
